General Information

Located at 4234 Dorney Park Road in the City of Allentown, The County of Lehigh.

Cedar Village apartments is a 5-Story building containing 50 One-Bedroom apartments. Each apartment has a Living Room/Dining Area, Kitchen, Bedroom, and Bathroom. The first floor of the building is occupied by The Meals on Wheels office and some Lehigh County Offices.

There is a coin-operated Laundry Room Located on the Fifth Floor. There is Off-Street Parking for tenants and visitors. The building entry system works with the tenants’ telephone. There is also a community room on the 2nd floor with an elevator to all floors.

Cedar Village Apartments is owned and managed by Lehigh County Housing Authority.

To be eligible for the building the following Criteria must be met:

  • You need to be age 55 or older or disabled. If under 55 and disabled, you will receive a lower preference on the waiting list.
  • There are income limits of $41,040 for 1 person and $46,920 for 2 people.

Income is based on all monies received from Employment, Social Security, Pensions, Welfare, Unemployment, Alimony, and Other Income Sources applicable. Interest and Dividends from Savings, Checking, CD’s, Property, and Investments are considered Assets. If you have given gifts within 2 years, that may also be used as imputed income.

If you are determined eligible for Cedar Village Apartments, your rent will be either $662/$697 per month.

The rent will be one or the other of the amounts listed based on applicant income at time of qualification for the building.

Your rent includes Heat, Hot Water, Water, Sewer, and Trash Removal. Tenant is responsible to pay Electricity, Cable, and Telephone. An Electric Stove and Refrigerator are provided. An Air Conditioner may be rented on a monthly basis.

There is NO HUD subsidy to help pay the rent for the apartment provided. But, if you have a voucher from a Housing Authority, we DO accept the voucher which bases your rent on your adjusted income.
