General Information
Located at 1400 Main Street in the Borough of North Catasauqua, North Catasauqua Apts. is a four story building containing forty one-bedroom apartments. Each apartment contains a large living/dining room, kitchen, bedroom and bath. The apartments are equipped with wall-to-wall carpeting, range, features and security of residents. Each apartment is fully insulated and is equipped with an electric heat pump for heating and cooling.
A community room and a coin-operated laundry room are located in the building for use by the residents. There is ample parking available for cars.
North Catasauqua Apartments is owned by Lehigh County Housing Authority. Lehigh County Housing Authority’s (LCHA) office is located at 635 Broad Street, Emmaus, PA 18049; phone 610-965-4514.
Admission Requirements:
Criteria for the building to be eligible are as follows:
- You need to be age 55 or older or disabled. If under 55 and disabled, you will receive a lower preference on the waiting list.
- There are income limits of:
- $35,150 for 1 person and $40,200 for 2 people at 50% of Area Median Income.
- $42,180 for 1 person and $48,240 for 2 people at 60% of Area Median Income.
Income is based on monies received from Employment, Social Security, Pensions, Welfare, Unemployment, Alimony, and Other Income Sources Applicable. Interest and dividends from Savings, Checking, CD’s, Stocks, Bonds, Property, Life Insurance, and Investments are considered Assets. If you have given gifts within 2 years, that may also be used as imputed income.
The monthly rent at North Catasauqua Apartments will be either $849/$883 per month.
The rent will be one or the other of the amounts listed based on applicant income at time of qualification for the building.

This includes electric, heat/cooling, hot water, water, sewer and garbage costs. The costs not included in your rent would be your monthly costs for telephone and television cable.
